India’s worst midday meal tragedy has cost lives of many innocent children. 23 children died while several others are hospitalised after eating the midday meal in Bihar’s Dharmasti Gandaman village earlier in July.
It was the most tragic but not the only incident of this kind. In the past, several kids got ill after eating midday meal and now many villagers don’t want to send their children to school anymore.
With the refusal to continue the midday meal by children in many schools in India, this highly ambitious program puts at stake the future of many underprivileged children.
