Nepal Prison on the verge of Collapse

Prisons in Nepal are holding double the number of inmates they were built for. One of Nepal’s oldest prisons- Palpa prison is in critical condition and human right activists say as a result it could collapse in on the prisoners. Rajneesh Bhandari went to western Nepal to find out more on this.

People in the Nepal are going with out electricity for up to 12 hours a day—due to daily power cuts. Nepal only produces about half its electricity needs mainly from hydropower. As Rajneesh Bhandari from Kathmandu reports in winter when there is not enough water there is no enough power to go around.
